Deborah Barham

As far back as the third grade Deborah wanted to be a psychologist and be enlightened to the secret of the mind’s organization.  In her first psychology class at the University of Miami, Florida, she was asked to write down her dream goal.  Her goal was to open her own private psychological practice.

After U of M she moved to California and worked as a Special Education Teacher.  She realized that teaching was not what she wanted to do so she became a counselor at a ranch for juvenile delinquent boys.  This was more to her liking.  She worked with these kids for 12 years.  However, as she moved up in rank her contact with the clients became less frequent.  That was not what she enjoyed.  So back to Florida to Nova Southeastern University to complete her Master’s Degree in Psychology .  She did her internship working in the field of forensic psychology.

She continued in that field after obtaining her LMHC.  She  dealt with both victim and batterer in domestic violence cases and worked with the court doing anger management for aggravated assault cases.  Along with this she dealt with custody issues by doing Co-parenting mediation.  During this time she saw that the majority of her clients had had a life of traumatic events.  She became interested in finding a better and more efficient treatment for trauma. She attended an intensive seminar on Clinical Hypnosis with Rapid Trauma Resolution. This training changed her life both professionally and privately.

Deborah, along with her friend and co-worker, Yvonne Haase, opened their private practice known as Creative Resolution Group.

She became a Board Certified and Founding member of the Institute for Clinical Hypnosis with Rapid Trauma Resolution as well as a Supreme Court Certified Family and County Mediator.  During her career she was also an EAP provider for Hospice and Broward County Workers.  Ms. Barham has presented and trained mental health professionals, physicians and other professional in the areas of Domestic Violence,  Substance Abuse and providing a Drug-free Workplace and Anger Management. Ms. Barham's book for women Healing from Abusive Relationships is scheduled to be published in the summer of 2007.
